Founded in 1909, Real Sociedad SAD is a Spanish soccer club based in the Basque Country, formerly the soccer section of the omnisport club bearing the same name nom. The team plays at San Sebastian's 40,000-capacity Anoeta Stadium. port Nicknamed La Real, the Real Sociedad colors are blue and white. The club maintains a rivalry with its Basque neighbor Athletic Bilbao.
It wasalso in 1909 that the club began its participation in the King's Cup, with a first victory over Madrid Spaniards by a score of 3-1. In 1929, the team entered Liga, now LaLiga Santander, and managed to finish in 4th place with Paco Bienzobas, the season's top scorer.
