FC Metz: A club with a rich history

FC Metz was founded in 1919. It became a professional club in 1932. Its colors are garnet and white. The club's home ground is the 30,000-seat Stade Saint-Symphorien. FC Metz competes in the France championship, known as Ligue 1. The club has not won any Champion titles at France, but was runner-up atchampion in 1998. For the season, it finished tenth in the competition. Over the course of its history, FC Metz has seen the passing of iconic players such as Robert Pirès and Louis Saha. On a purely sporting level, it has a strong rivalry with AS Nancy Lorraine and a more moderate one with RC Strasbourg Alsace (RCSA).
