Real Betis Seville 1970s Szusza Retro Tracksuit Jacket

The 1970s were a decade of highs and lows for the Real Betis. The league form varied greatly, and the club spent the period alternating between the top two divisions. The highlight was the successful Copa del Rey campaign in 1977. Its foundations were laid during the first match by coach Ferenc Szusza, who managed the club from 1971 to 1976, and it was completed under coach Rafael Iriondo. This victorious cup campaign marked the club's first win in this competition and its first major honour since 1935. The resulting European campaign brought a famous first-round victory against Milan.

It was also a decade where Betis legends were created, with many of the most loyal and long-serving players in the club's history making their debuts, including Francisco Bizcocho, José Ramón Esnaola, Antonio Biosca, Julio Cardeñosa, and the great Rafael Gordillo.
