Carlo Parola, the coach of the Juventus, took over the double season 1959-60. The following season's campaign to retain their Serie A title was an outstanding success and the Turin giants won the championship with a four-point lead over runner-up Milan. The attacking line, consisting of Omar Sivori, John Charles, Bruno Nicolè and Bruno Mora, reached double figures that season, with Sivori leading the way with 25 goals in the League alone.
